MyPudsey was an idea first conceived by Trish Smith in 2018, long before her Councillor days. The project was brought to life in 2020 when Glenn Taylor set his mind to building a community website with support from the MyPudsey team. It was and will always be a completely volunteer led project, we have received no funding and all the time spent bringing MyPudsey to life has been completely without remuneration. This allows us to be free of any political or financial bias, and allows us to stick to our mission of being just and fair to all.
We want to enjoy our town, be proud of it and most of all, support it through what has been the most trying and difficult year for our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has been the most difficult the majority of us have ever seen in our lifetime, one which we hopefully will never see again. The numerous lockdowns and tier restrictions have had an immeasurable impact on our local businesses, community groups, sporting groups and residents generally. We all felt an overwhelming desire to attempt something that would give our town as much support as we can offer to get Pudsey back on its feet. By doing this we can show residents and visitors alike, all the wonderful businesses, groups, activities, events and more that we have to offer in Pudsey, all in one place.
To all independent Pudsey businesses, large or small, community groups and residents, we need you. We want your contributions, whether it’s a business or a job listing, a blog or any other submission or suggestion. The recovery and future success of our town depends on all of us working together, in whatever small ways we can, so let’s do it!
MyPudsey is managed by a team of volunteers. We will aim to respond to any questions or listing submissions as quickly as possible but all of our team members do have other work commitments so please do bear with us. Please be assured that any suggestions will be considered by the team and we will endeavour to implement them in the best way we can if it is deemed reasonable, manageable and most of all, a great benefit to our businesses and residents. We accept that we are unlikely to have covered everything Pudsey has to offer, we hope that everyone will appreciate that the MyPudsey platform is a continuous work in progress.
Glenn is our website developer and photographer, when he isn’t sat at his computer producing websites he can be found wandering the country with camera in hand.
Hayley is one of our content and marketing specialists, helping keep the website up-to-date with business information and other information about Pudsey.
Damon is well known in the Pudsey community for his extensive knowledge on the history of our town. Damon contributes regularly to the overall content and helps keep the website up-to-date.
Trish was voted in as Pudsey councillor in 2019 and has used her extensive knowledge of the town and its businesses to help produce the website you see here today. Trish also heads up the Pudsey Lottery team.
